Ashtanga This is the classical Ashtanga Primary Series as taught by Sri BNS Iyengar . Here we begin to breathe with precision and learn to practice yoga without missing a single breath. Primary Series is the "original recipe" that has directly influenced many other styles of yoga. When a student learns these postures by heart and becomes comfortable with the steady pace of movement and breath, there is a strong foundation and the student is assured of having enough knowledge to practice on their own.
Deep Relaxation Yin A calming, meditative, and deeply intense practice, Yin is a perfect complement to dynamic and muscular styles popular in America today. Yin stimulates and targets connective tissues by working gently into the edge of postures through long holds (between one and 5 minutes). By emphasizing healing of ligaments, bones, and joints rather than muscles, these classes encourage an entirely different sort of stress relief and openness from more active and movement-oriented practices. Suitable for all levels, Yin promotes a sense of slow, deep unwinding and release.
